Are there natural remedies that can help with spring allergies? I've had them for years (okay, decades ) and can deal with symptoms, but dd has just hit the allergy wall and is miserable. It looks as though tree pollen is her trigger.

Thanks for any and all suggestions! (And, yes, we are heading to the doctor next week.)

Nancy, The pollen count has been so record high here that people WITHOUT allergies are being bothered by it. Thank goodness we have some rain to wash it down a bit.

I always went through the allergist method, which worked for me, so no natural advice I can pass along. But I'll pray for your daughter, because allergies are so debilitating. They totally wipe me out.

nettle can help

vitamin C can help

washing more frequently helps too.. don't go to bed without a shower if you've been outside for instance.. pollen can get caught in your hair and then you're "sleeping in it" if you haven't showered before bed.

There's a lovely homeopathic eye drop for allergies (Similasan)that works really well for the eyes and even helps alleviate general symptoms somewhat.

I've heard that local honey when taken regularly can help you stop being allergic to the pollens.

Yes, local honey.   It is helping us this year. Raw honey from the local bees, local pollens. We have a Bee store and we buy tons and the kids just eat in on a spoon or in tea....yum.

The Neti Pot has been a life saver for us. My 17 yo daughter has such horrible seasonal allergies but since we discovered the NetiPot her allergies have been much more manageable.
