Yesterday I read through THIS LONG T TAP THREAD when many on this board were getting started with T Tapp. I am wondering if any of you all are still using this program with frequency? And if so, how is it working for you?

I am considering buying it. I'm 35, need to lose about 30lb, and more importantly, am very, very out of shape. I do not like exercise. However, I do not lead a sedentary lifestyle. As a result, my body hurts throughout my normal activities. My back, neck, feet, are sore and achey, and I'm starting to feel like an old lady!

So, there is a lot about the T Tapp program that sounds appealing and do able.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

I have been wondering the same thing... looking forward to reading responses! Especially since my maiden name was Tracy Tapp, I am wondering if this program was made for me!

Shawna, I never have gotten the video to do this.. though i'd still like to try it. But you mention your feet and back and neck hurting. You might want to check if your feet are being properly supported.. it can be something as simple as that that is making you hurt.

I have both the T-Tapp and the Leslie Sansone walking dvds.

T-Tapp is harder for me- learning the moves and how to do them right takes time. The Leslie Sansone walking dvds are easier- if you can walk, you can do them. You can jump right in, plus you can get them on Amazon very reasonably.

I prefer the walking dvds because they are easy to follow, and I am seeing very good results with them.

Coming back to add that many libraries have the Leslie Sansone dvds, so you can try them out for free. That is how I started.

I'm still T-Tapping. I don't love it but I like it better than any other exercise of tried over the years. I've seen results but it does take a lot of discipline to get it right. I definitely think it's worth it to put in the time, though.

I had started it last fall and liked it but the H1N1 flu and the cough that lasted 2 months ended that! I tried again several weeks ago but my chiropractor told me not to do it anymore as I had neck pain and a history of low back pain which some of these moves can aggravate. He was thinking herniated disc in my neck which lifting arms above my head and the quick neck moves only made worse. (pain and numbness in both arms and hands) I feel much better since I stopped it. I really wanted this to work...I am back to daily walking and after I have an MRI on my neck I will see what I can do.

I still T-Tapp! I don't do the basic workout everyday but I do use some of the exercises everyday. They are a great warm-up for my run --especially the back stretch. And I can "hear" Theresa in my head as I do them.

I also do hoe downs here and there to get my heart rate up and I try to remember to squeeze my shoulder blades together while I am sitting here at the computer.

I am back to T-Tapping after starting out last year and I am still pleased with the results. I started working out with both Leslie Sansone (which I still love) and Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. The Shred, which had equally pleasing results in inch-loss, absolutely was a killer on my knees, so I quit doing it in early Feb. I did T-Tapp here and there, but didn't commit to a "boot camp" (doing the workout several days in a row to help establish "neuro-kinetic flow") until earlier this month. I've lost a total of 7.25 inches from various areas of my body in two weeks. The better part is, my knees no longer kill me when walking the stairs or getting into and out of chairs (which they did when I was "shredding").

I will echo what someone else posted, it is not an easy workout, by any means, though it can seem quite simple when you first approach it. However, if you have been a non-exercise person, I'm pretty sure you will see very quick results. There is really more of an emphasis on inch-loss over weight-loss in T-Tapp circles, since you are building muscle, which is more dense and weighs more than fat. But muscle also takes up less room...I'm a size smaller than I was in January (at the height of my diet and intense exercise schedule), though I weigh 7 lbs. more!

The Leslie Sansone videos are very good also, though it's really more cardio than anything else. I understand T-Tapp has a walking video (Stepping Away the Inches, I think), but I've not seen it yet. I'm guessing it is similar to Leslie's videos, but using T-Tapp principles to ensure proper spinal alignment, etc. I think this might be the next video I get so I can compare it to Leslie's videos.

If you haven't already, take some time to hang around the T-Tapp website and read the success stories, watch some "try before you buy" videos, and peruse the forums.

I'm still T-Tapping! Currently I'm doing the 15 minute basic every morning - yes every morning - combined with working on 10,000 steps. I did get the T-Tapp Step Away DVD within the month...did it twice...like it...but then got off on this 10,000 step thing without it. I'm curious to see how it all shakes out. My guess is that when the heat strikes AZ and I need to walk more, I'l use it...and probably add some Sansome for variety.

Like Susan said, I will never love doing these formal exercises, but I *do* love feeling better.

Let us know what you end up doing, Shawna. I will pray that you find a good fit for your needs.

Love,

I have the Step Away DVD as well and I do like it. Angie has me very interested in the 10,000 step thing and I've been experimenting with short 3-minute bursts of stepping (that's 400 steps for me) combined with some of the T-Tapp upper body stuff to get my heart rate up through the day.

I wanted to chime in that it took me a long time to see results with T-Tapp. But I'm finally seeing inch loss. My weight has remained constant but I've lost 4.5 inches and I only measure waist and hips. I definitely recommend the T-Tapp advice to focus on inch loss over weight loss.
