Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm experiencing PAINFUL cramps (?) down the right side of my stomach (38 wks pregnant) It feels like the cramps when you swim or a regular leg cramp that I'd stretch out, but this won't go away.

Please tell me it's something normal....even though I've never felt anything like this before while pregnant.

It may be round ligament pain.

I picked this site to link to because it has a picture of where the round ligaments are.. it's a fairly medical drawn picture but may still be offensive to some

Round Ligaments

But laying down on the side opposite the pain may help it relax. I have also found that the hands and knees rocking position can stretch things nicely.

Also be sure you're getting enough calcium and magnesium. Without those muscles don't contract or relax smoothly.

Thank you, Jodie. After looking at the link, I think that's what happened . I knew it wasn't contractions because of the 30+ minutes of unrelenting pain. Time to up the calcium and magnesium! I don't want to go through that again.

oh good.. that's why I hunted for a picture that would show location better than I could explain. It helps so much in figuring it out.

Glad to hear it let up too.

I had those often during my last 2 pregnancies. Debilitating to say the least! I'll have to remember the suppliments if I am ever expecting again. I thought I was just getting old (I'm 35 )
Thanks for the tip Jodie!
