Ladies I would really appreciate some tips on fighting the issue of BO in youngmen . ds14 ok he just reeks ! our other boys did not go through this . I'm not talking the smell of under arm sweat . it is as if his whole body oozes stech . His room gets so bad we have to wash his bedding very often , leave his bedroom door open to air it out . I feel bad for him because he can shower once per day and by midafternoon be stinky again ! I know very little baout en in regards to this topic .
any ideas on hormonal issues , natural remedies , not meaning deoderant sticks but teas or foods that could possibly help eliviate this problem . This is so strange as I said I'm stumped I've never heard of nor expereinced such a thing .
If we lived outside I might not notcice but it is now winter and we are stuck indoors . help please !

We have the same problem here. I recently went to my local Health Food Shop and they recommended an antiperspirant a Sports one, Aluminum Free

It seems to get better as they get older. It is a combo of the body, head, shoes, socks, dirty laundry in weird places growing bacteria, etc. Now, my son is 17, and he will get stinky a little, but it is not nearly as bad as it was. He is great now about showering daily, and showering COMPLETELY...I always wondered whether he was doing a good job or not.
Probably not.
He's ok now though.
Hang in there!

I've heard of taking chlorophyll tablets to alleviate body odor.
Also, my mom used to recommend baking soda -- not to take by mouth, since it's a sodium, but to wash odorous clothes and also to dust underarms and in other odorous places.

I've found that having them wash with an antibacterial soap (like Dial) really helps.

And, knowing they'll outgrow the worst of this helps too.

Oh Thank You Thank You ! I thought to myself early today , oh maybe this is to wierd a quetion , maybe I'm the only one with s stinky boy .
The most releif is that he will rpobably get better with age . ripen perhaps ok I couldn't resist that one .
Our problem is I am so allergic to so many soaps etc. I get very bad headaches from strong scents like perfumes etc. I can't even have any heavy cleansers in the home at all . I can try out the soda and chlorophyll tablets for sure . I never knew it came in tablet form .
Perhaps I could get him a soap that is anti bacterial without a scent ? do they exisit without scent ? if he was careful maybe and I bought him a soap case perhaps for storage . He is good with his feet we bought him one of those mineral sticks and it works ok for feet along with only leather or canvas shoes no spongy plastic material at all . summer time he moves into flip flops .
I'm thinking giving him a set laundry day would be a good idea . I only do laundry a few days per week now with only ds8 , dh & I ds14 does his own so I kind of didn't pay much attention to the when he does it as long as I have seen him using the machine .
These are all really great great ideas ladies . Thank You so much . Lov Rox

getting the laundry out of his room might help too.. my laundry area here is in the attached garage so if it'd stink up the house it goes right out to the garage.
