Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

like you do after having multiple children?
We are expecting our 6th baby and so far so good. I have been feeling queasy and achy, but rather well.
I know each subsequent child can bring extra weight for us, but I am feeling like I am already not fitting into my pants.
Am I the only mother that is going through this. I know many of you go back to your shapely self soon after the baby is born. But that was not the case with my last pregnancy, my ds will 2 in a week.
Anyway I am due 7/10/10 and I am only left to wonder.

You know, Claudia, I have been wondering how ladies go through more than five pregnancies. If I last through this one, I don't know if I can do it again! Sheesh! And I'm still pretty young. To answer your question, though, I felt pregnant this time about a week post ovulation and was showing by 16 weeks. Of course, I haven't really been out of maternity clothes for the past five years and I should have last about 20 pounds more after the last pregnancy.

Congratulations!!! You'll be in my prayers.

What wonderful news! Congratulations Claudia!
About feeling pregnant, usually it's the day I find out "for sure" and I joke about it, but I see myself showing that same day as well

YAY Claudia!! You are due just a few weeks after me! I am just a tad over 7 weeks, and very poochie. I am a pretty thin person, but since about my 5th I have retained a bit of a pooch, which becomes pretty pronounced just around 6 weeks. I don't think anyone would dare ask me if I was pregnant if they saw me, but I'm certain they would be left wondering! I have found that my smaller maternity skirts are very very comfy. As for how I feel, it has been so different with each one. I really started feeling icky last week, with others, I never did, and then again with others it was a relief to discover I was pregnant and didn't have a really long virus!

My midwife always explains it like.. your body says.. oh hey, I remember this and know just what to do.

I usually don't get nauseaus until around 6-7 weeks if I do (had one pregnancy with no nausea at all) But each is different.

One time I remember laying down on my stomach on the bed and could simply tell by how it felt that I was pregnant..

Also, I have figured out that most of the time.. I'm simply overly sensitive to waistbands in early pregnancy.. so while I may not have changed size.. what was comfortable is too tight while pregnant. I feel better and have less nausea when I dont' have a waistband (or I wear one of my elastic waist long skirts and let the waist ride high. )

Claudia,

I'll be 19 weeks this Thursday with our 5th. I too never fully recovered from our current baby who will be 2 in December. The weight just didn't budge this time. I thought it could be due to the longer nursing with her. I've never suffered from nausea but have extreme fatigue that lasts from about 6-8wks to 12 wks. I've gone exclusively to maternity clothes in the past week or two. I still don't think many people immediately notice I'm pregnant and if they suspect, they don't say it yet .

I couldn't fit in my jeans and things by week 10 or so. I don't wear those a lot because after my c-section with #3 I pretty much hate anything with a waist band!

Thank you all for the good laughs I needed that. We were hit with the flu pretty bad it seems as though we are all much better, so I was unable to respond.

I think it is true that our bodies react differently once we have had a certain amount of children. We have not told our IL and my MIL notices every weight change that I go through, so I am thinking that is what is bringing on this litle bit of anxiety. She is very big on being fit and eating right.
When your pregnant it doesn't matter how well I eat or exercise...I show a lot. Well I will offer it up.

This is my 7th pregnancy, but in all my pregnancies I have started gaining weight before I even really know I'm pregnant. By about 7 weeks or so I'm breaking out the maternity clothes and also sick. I'm not thin, and 3 c-sections and twins have left me with no abdominal muscles to speak of. It always takes me about a year to lose the weight... except for the case of the twins, where I kept ten or fifteen pounds in remembrance.
