Does anyone else get this too? I can't remember being so grouchy at the end of other pregnancies. I am 36+ weeks and I am such a grouch all the time. Even the littlest thing totally gets on my nerves. We are trying to get 3 or 4 weeks of school under our belts before the baby comes (we are on week 2) but I really don't even want to deal with it, I just want to lay down and do nothing...alone. But since that isn't really possible I was just wondering if anyone else gets like this at the end. It is so hot here the kids can't go outside except in the early morning or evening and then I really have to go out with them so the 2 yr old doesn't eat the sand in the sandbox

Summer pregnancies are harder imo.. I had one in early July and one in Aug. It's hot and even when you have a/c you're confined to the house or you feel the heat even worse being used to a/c.
Here's it's not so bad because the hot part of summer doesn't really start until the very end of June but I remember in other places you were so tired of the heat by August and it was still so very hot with no real cooling expected for another month.
Be sure you're getting hydrated.. being dehydrated can make you more tired and grouchy. And applies to everyone not just you, but being pregnant you need to work harder at it.
If the 2 yr old still naps.. take that opportunity for a quiet time for everyone so that you can lay down all alone for a bit each day.
A quick shower (hair up - or hair down so that it keeps you cool) can revive you once you make yourself do it. I liked doing that at the point I knew the evening was starting to cool off.
And red raspberry leaf tea can help smooth out hormones and help you be less grouchy. Good for you too.. pregnant and nursing.

You mean you're only grouchy at the END of pregnancy?
The heat doesn't help, Jess. I can't stand the heat and I'm not pregnant. This summer reminds me of 1998 when it was 100 degrees every single day. We'll need to set up a playdate so you can get some alone time.

I'm with you. I'm 38w3d pregnant and struggling to control my emotions with the kids. It's exhausting--but there's an end in sight--right?

KC, I am grouchy some all through out, but this time I have really noticed it here at the end. Boy I remember that summer...
Every time dd wants to nurse I cringe because it hurts and causes the baby to move to one side which is so uncomfortable. And the contractions it causes are starting to get really stong. Unfortunately she doesn't nap regularly and has wanted to nurse so much.
I tried to find red raspberry leaf capsules or tea the other day but I couldn't find any (I looked at wallyworld).
Melissa, it is exhausting. Yesterday afternoon my dd6 wanted me to read to her and I just wasn't in the mood. I felt bad for it but I just didn't feel like doing it. I will try to read more to her today. There is an end in sight, I just hope mine comes sooner rather than later!

You'll need to go to a health food store for the red raspberry leaves. You can also buy them online. The only place I've gotten any online is loose leaf from herbalcom.com (the price is great though, for all their spices.. they have most of the culinary ones as well as some of the medicinal ones)

I was finally able to find some locally. I stumbled on a health food store we have here and as soon as I walked in the door I saw the tea. So I bought 2 boxes!
