Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm finally planning to go to the doctor to get checked this upper abdominal bulge I've had since after my first baby was born. The OB offhandedly identified it as a hernia during my most recent pregnancy. Seems likely but I'm not certain that's what it is. I just wanted to know if anyone has had this sort of thing, and what you've done about it, and what your doctors said about it regarding future childbearing. I thought I'd read of it previously being recommended not to repair such a hernia if more pregnancies were expected but that that advice has at least come into question or maybe even been pretty much discarded. I had a VBAC (my first VB) with this baby, with almost 2 hours of pushing, and didn't have any problems related to this thing.

No, experience...yet.    I actually have an appointment this month to see if I need surgery for one.    It's never bothered me before but it is now.

Theresa, sounds important thing to have properly checked out by a doctor.

Also I have a link to the herb ladies mantle, it's actions are connected to the repair of hernias and other women's problems.

I saw a family doctor who easily diagnosed me with a ventral hernia and an umbilical hernia. It sounded like he thinks surgery won't be recommended now if it is not causing problems and I expect to have more children, but he wanted me to see a surgeon anyway. I have an appointment with one in the middle of July.
