Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My kids have terrible dandruff. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Tea tree oil shampoo is what I've found works best. Winter tends to dry out the scalp just like it does everything else.

I second the tea tree oil shampoo. We get it at Trader Joe's. Our pediatrician said we could use Head and Shoulders once or twice a week, but it really didn't help as much as the tea tree oil shampoo. Also, make sure they (or you) are really massaging their scalps when you shampoo, to loosen and wash away as much of the flakes as you can.

I second LisaD...they are probably not thoroughly rinsing out the soap when they are shampooing. Scrub, scrub, scrub!

Do they have curly or super thick hair? I'm just asking because I do and I had a hair dresser tell me several years ago that this is something that is chronic for people with curly hair sometimes due to the shape of the hair follicle. Anyway, I have personally tried the tea tree oil shampoo and it didn't work for me. Maybe it was the brand, I'm open to trying another. I use Head and Shoulders every time I wash and it's completely under control even now that I live in a dry climate (vs. swamp climate in Houston!). I have a sister who is 8 and she and I have the same hair, same solution, so maybe it will work for your littles as well.

Also leaving the treating shampoo in for a few moments before rinsing helps me.
