Alright, ladies, maybe you can help...
I'm tired. Really seriously T-I-R-E-D. Like, crawl out of bed to go to the bathroom, and crawl back in and sleep some more--for, oh, say, a month, tired. After a good, 9hrs or so of sleep a night.
I'm taking a good prenatal/vitamin regimen. I am on the meds for my PCOS, and am trying to drink enough water.
I'm thinking, could it be some sort of systemic fatigue? I mean, the last two years *have* been hard
For a quick run-down, here you go:
-Pregnant, 1st trimester fall-winter of 06...most exhausting, nauseating 1st trimester out of all of my pregnancies...
-Found out it was twins at 21 wks, put on bedrest at 26wks, delivered 6wks early in May of 07...
-Boys were in the NICU for two weeks. Got them both home, and DH left for Iraq a week later (1June 07).
-In mid-July of 07, had DSS called on me and had to be investigated...
-DH got sent home (after numeous "I could be home.." changes) mid-Oct 07....
-Househunting goes on while DH is in the process of retiring out of the army, 10/07--02/08...house closing takes a month longer than it "should" have...move from NC to OK in April 08.
-DH starts his new job, and we wait (and wait and wait) on the VA....
-We get pregnant in July of 08, have spotting/bleeding/light duty restrictions, but lose the baby in Sept 08...
-and we're STILL waiting on the VA, and are now to the point of borrowing money from my family and some friends
Am I wrong in thinking I could have some sort of systemic "been too stressed for too long" thing going on here? I don't feel depressed--just exhausted. My mood is good (it'd be better if I knew we'd get the VA money soon), and other than feeling like sleeping from the time I wake up in the morning until the time I do finally get back to sleep at night...I'm doing quite well. I was not this tired when I was pregnant, before the m/c, so I'm not sure what is going on..and of course, now I have even less excuse for being tired (not being in the family way, first trimester, etc...)...sigh. Its gotten worse the past week or so, big time...
Thoughts? Advice?

Not to give you one more thing to do.....but do you get any exercise? A good walk might help burn off some of the nervous energy and help your sleep. If you can take the children along, it will help them sleep too.
Otherwise, how about a soak in the tub and then some chamomile tea. A little lavendar in your pillow might help. Just make sure you remember you put it there and not scratch your head when twiggy things fall out of your pillow case.

That's the thing-I sleep like a LOG. DH has to practically knock me out of the bed in the am, as a matter of fact...
I dream, and everything, so I know I am getting some REM sleep in there, I'm just not sure about the fatigue. I mean, I get under the covers, and within 1/2 an hr (usually far less, sometimes it takes me that long to get the bed as comfortable as I like it, lol), I am O-U-T.
But given that I am sleeping so well, I'm just wondering why I'd be so tired..

I had a friend who suffered from adrenal fatigue. Basically she was too stressed for too long and her system just needed to shut down and rest for awhile. I don't have much more information than that but I do know that by prioritizing things, resting a lot, and using nutrition and supplements (no medication as far as I know) she's doing much better now. Maybe someone else on the board has more information for you.
Prayers . . .

Prayers and hugs!
Maybe thyroid?
I would have said you have an awful lot that sounds like it could cause depression, but....you don't sound depressed - just stressed - and maybe anxious? Anxiety can cause fatigue too. You have had a lot going on....

Well, I know I've heard folks talk about stress related adrenal fatigue..but never had any experience with it myself..or known anyone, personally, who has....
I know that if you look at what we've had going on the last year or two, well....if you did one of those "how stressed out are you" type tests, I'd be off the chart. I wouldn't even know how to go about working with something like that...

Is there iron in your prenatal? Have you had your iron or ferritin level checked? I know mine got very low a couple of times and it took a LOT of iron (much more than a vitamin) to get me back to normal. Just a thought...hope you feel better soon!

Well, I've not had it checked, Anne, since it just started...But I'm taking one kind of vitamin (my "supermom" vitamins from Beeyoutiful), and another one, as well. And a Bvitamin, since I'm on metformin for my PCOS (and it sucks Bvitamins out of you)
