Starting Monday I am beginning a yeast free diet along with a month long prescription of Nystatin and a two week prescription of Diflucan. I will also be supplementing daily with a probiotic to get rid of a yeast over growth problem.

I have been going through some health issues since my hysterectomy 5 years ago and the symptoms (fatigue, muscle & joint pain, cold hands & feet, memory loss and severe headaches to name a few) have gotten progressively worse each year until over the last couple of months. Recently they have been almost debilitating at times. I feel like I'm watching my life go by, but too tired to join in. I'm taking naps and sleeping ALL THE TIME.

Once we address the yeast overgrowth I hope to fnd a wellness doctor who will support a more natural approach to dealing with my hypothyroidism and possibly look at supplementing with some natural hormones.

Has anyone here ever done a yeast free diet? I am looking forward to feeling better but it will be a strict diet. No fruits even for the first two weeks!

I have loosely done this before. If you Google the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle or SCD (specific carbohydrate diet) you will find some sites with recipes and info.

Theresa, I will be praying for you. I haven't done this, but I know it's hard.

There have been a few threads, and I know Rebecca has given some great advice on and off list, so I would recommend giving her a PM for advice.

A friend of mine who had severe endometriosis and then a very early hysterectomy is currently on The Body Ecology Diet for similar reasons as yours. She feels great.
