Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Some local Catholics have recommended a practitioner who is a Catholic and I have been told that there is nothing contrary to church doctrine.

Has anyone heard of it? The cost is a big factor for us - I really do not want to take money out of emergency savings. I also have some fear as to whether it actually works.

I've tried it Marilyn - it wasn't really successful for me at the time, but there may be several reasons for that: the practitioner I was seeing was kind of new at it, and I didn't go long enough - also it was about 10 years ago and they may have "tweaked" things between now and then.

I have heard of people having great success with it, and I have heard just as many people say "it didn't work for me."

Now, I *did* definitely feel something each time the accupuncture was done - like I had a headache after clearing sugar which I have heard is very common. So *something* was happening...

I would definitely try to find someone with experience if you want to try it. There are also otherh NAET type treatments out there, some of which may be more successful than others - BioSET, and another I can't remember the name of!

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm the moderator of a quiet yahoogroup called FAAT (food allergy alternative treatments) - it's not Catholic, but many of them have tried NAET and you can join and read through the archives and/or ask questions if you want.

Marilyn,

I have a neighbor and dear friend who had her daughter do four or five NAET treatments due to severe food allergies. They were expensive, her insurance didn't cover them but they did have some success. This child of my friend's can only eat foods on Feingold I and was able to introduce some basic foods back into her diet so she wouldn't be so limited in her choices. A mixed bag but might be worth a try! I'd be happy to connect the two of you if you'd like more information, just PM me.

You are in our prayers--I am sorry for your suffering!

I think that I am going to try it. The practitioner seems to be a faithful Catholic and kind.
