Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,

you may remember, that the day before we moved from Phx to Vegas, we were at my Mom's house, with low ceilings, and I accidentally put my hand into a fast moving ceiling fan. I had three very, very bruised and sore fingers. My ring finger and index finger are fine now. But my middle finger, which took the brunt of the injury, still is sore, and has like a small, hard lump (that hurts when I mess with it.) You can kind of see it when you look at it from the side, and it still looks ever-so-slightly bruised. The lump is just below the knuckle.

It has been over 5 weeks. Would you just ignore it?

anyone?

I just am not sure if I should have it x-rayed....but what can they do for a finger anyway, at this point....and it only hurts if I mess with it or use that hand a lot.

so - since no one said, "I would go to the doctor" I am assuming you all would just ignore it, too, right?

hmmm, the correct answer is "have doc check it out"
my reality is that i'd call the doc and maybe do some research on my own to see if should be checked first.

I have no idea.

I would probably go in if it's been over a week?

yes it should be checked out I would think..

but it should have been done before.. if it's been 5 weeks any break is likely mostly healed..

if the finger is useable and has feelings (no weird nerve things going on).. I might just let it go.. as long as it's getting better.. since to fix anything they'd have to rebreak it if that was the problem and so it would have to really be a problem for me to do that.

ack!

normally, I would have gone to the doc, but it was literally the evening before we were leaving. I just couldn't tell at that point how bad it was, and I sure couldn't see spending hours at the ER since we were doing all the packing/moving ourselves.....

and we don't have a doc here for us yet, the kids have a ped, but the big people don't have one yet....

I was really hoping y'all would be like, "oh I'd wait it out, too"
