I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and don't have full-blown nausea yet (I usually don't start that 'til the 7th week or so) -- but I'm getting this weird heartburn-ish type feeling accompanied by chills on the back of my arms and on my shoulders and back. I don't remember experiencing this before. Any idea what's causing it and how I can prevent it? It gets so that I want to just lie in bed under THICK covers, and it happens about 3 x a day.

Congratulations, Stef! What wonderful wonderful news!

For your chill/heartburn issue, I got something like that in the early afternoons, and I think they were sugar crashes related to hypoglycemia. Once I started eating good snacks, like suggested here, and remembering to eat every 2-4 hours by the clock, I didn't have that problem anymore. Elizabeth also recommended Perfectly Pregnant which had some other great reminders. And Jenn GM loaned me books about hypoglycemia which had more extensive food lists.

I hope you figure it out!
