Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I went to Curves today.......and found out just in the nick of time about a class tonight and next week.

I am hoping for some inspiration...the "Teacher" is a great cheerleader. I will take notes and share with all of you.

Blessings,

Great, Chari -- my mom enjoys Curves a lot. Hope it revvs you up to meet your goal.

My husband and I have been walking most days lately for about an hour, and I've cut way back on coffee, which always makes me hungry -- drinking mostly green tea instead. And I have been making myself eat something substantial for breakfast.

We don't even have a working scale, but I stepped on my mother-in-law's last night, and I seem to be down maybe 3 lbs from the last time I was over there? Which was . . . Christmas?

The thing about walking is that it makes me FEEL so much fitter and firmer, whether I've actually dropped any poundage or not. And I love it that my husband's schedule is such right now that we can take the time during the day to walk together (leaving the teenager in charge at home for a little while -- I LOVE having a teenager . . . ).

I gave my husband a little pedometer for his birthday -- we're all on this "10,000 steps a day" kick right now, and on our walk yesterday, the pedometer showed that we'd taken in the neighborhood of 6, 500. Dude! Go home and sit down for an hour! I gave my 10yo a pedometer, too, because he needs to be more active, so all of us are saying to each other, "So, how many steps have YOU taken??" all day long. (I'd really like to put a pedometer on my 5yo, who "thinks" by trotting in circles around and around and around and around the den -- I think he probably averages 10,000 steps an hour).

Onward! Um . . . downward!

Sally
