I am 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my 3rd child (waiting....waiting...trying not to go crazy!), and this birth should be my second VBAC, as I had a (unnecessary, I might add) c-section with my first daughter.
During the last couple of days I have started to feel a sharp pain that feels like when you walk/run combined with soreness on the right side under my pregnant belly. Yesterday, I felt it and it felt a little knotted up so I had my DH feel it and he mentioned that it is RIGHT next to my c/s scar (which I didn't realize, because I can't see down there any more ). My scar is strange, because it is partially invisible now, and partially still dark and puffy on the side where I was feeling the pain.
I'm thinking maybe this pain is the stretching of the scar tissue underneath or something. Does anyone have any idea? I would hate for it to be something that indicates a problem and not realize it!

Andrea, praying that the baby will come soon! I don't have an answer or similar situation. But is the pain from the inside, or outside? Remember that you have two scars, and the outside skin scar doesn't always correspond to the uterine scar from the c/s.

Andrea,
I think I'd mention it to my doctor, just because it's new and it's sharp. At this stage of the game, you're in such close contact with your OB that I wouldn't hesitate to run it by him. No sense in guessing at this stage of the game...

Yes, I think it is always a good idea to rUn this kind of thing by the doctor.
Praying for you as you await your miracle.

Annie,
I had all kinds of pains like that when I was pg with my 1st VBAC. You should mention it to the doc. Its probably just stretching....
but there is a danger of rupture and it (almost) always happens when a VBAC labor is induced!
So please let your body deliver this baby naturally in all respects!
Praying for you!

Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunately, even though I am seeing my doctor on a weekly basis, I didn't start feeling this pain until AFTER my most recent appointment and I won't be seeing her again until next Friday.
No worries - I know that an induction is VERY dangerous...in fact, my OB won't even consider an induction.
I just wanted to see if anyone else had felt a similar pain or knew what it might be. Thanks.

I would even call over the weekend the doc on call if it continues..use to work OB....just my paranoid old nurse voice, but why chance anything until next Friday. I don't ever feel bad calling a doc on call...if you have a need, that's what they are there for...and they are used to it.
Take care!!
