Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How do I get rid of it? The stuff on my forehead doesn't fuss me much, but I'm REALLY tired of the mustache. Help?

A dermatologist can give you something to apply to the darker areas. It has the same active ingredient as over the counter skin bleaching products but in higher concentration.

Peace,
Nancy

Thanks! I thought there was a vitamin supplement you could take, but now I can't seem to remember where I heard that. Dermatologist it is!

OH, its Vitamin E.I started taking that early on this pregnancy as soon as my "beard" appeared and it has really helped. I was also told that Vitamin E helps the placenta adhere to the uterus and that I needed to stop taking it at 36 weeks-so I did and low and behold, less than a week later, all of my blotches re-appeared so now I look just lovely; just in time for the delivery of our new one next week. I checked with my dermatologist and the cream wasn't covered by our insurance so it was going to cost over $100. No thanks! I'll stick with Vitamin E. :-) Hopefully, you'll have better luck!

Kristina -

I like that do-it-yourself cure! How much do you take?

Peace,
Nancy

Nancy,
I was taking a 400 I.U. softgel supplement every day. It didn't completely take everything away but definitely made a huge improvement. I wondered if taking more would completely even out the pigmentation but wasn't desperate enough to find out and thought it might do more harm than good in the long run.

Thanks for sharing that! My herbalist has just put me on Vitamin E, citing that it helps the placenta adhere to the uterus (she also said that Vitamin E helps disolve adhesions too...) So it helps with the masking as well, not that I suffer this too badly, just on the tummy...

Excellent! My mom said Niacin (I had the idea it was Folic acid) so I've been dealing with the itchies and blushes for months now with no improvement. Finally I was like, "Maybe it's not Niacin."    I'll try the Vit E first since going to the doctor is such a pain.

Anne, I have it on my tummy too which is funny looking; it's a big thick line plus a patch of browner skin. Looks like one of the kids got me with a crayola marker. Mine is nothing to what my mom had in her last pregancy, but hers all went away naturally. Off to the vitamin store!

Huh, you know what? This is the first pregnancy that I've taken Vitamin E regularly and its also the first pregancy that I don't have that same brown line! I kept thinking I was getting that brown line b/c my kids are dark skinned and maybe this was going to be our first fair haired/non-brown eyed baby! LOL! Duh!
