Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have just found out that I am expecting again at my new age of 40. This will be my 12th pregnancy in 13 years. I have had 7 children with 6 children living and 5 in heaven with their heavenly Mother and Father. I am quite high risk having 3 natural deliveries, 3 caesareans, two inductions, 4 miscarriages and a premmie. Doctors love to see me coming! I generally freak them right out. My last baby died at 5 months. He was a little 24 week premmie - Jonathan.

He did very well despite the odds - operations, transfusions, lung disease, tube feeding, high frequency ventilation, etc, etc. After 41/2 months in intensive care we got him to our local hospital with the NICU announcing him as their "miracle baby", their "little star". We had just started each day a little breastfeeding - we were so confident.

He died 12 days after arriving from a bacterial infection which he contracted from our local hospital. His birthday is coming up on the 17th of May he would have been 2yso - he certainly was Mary's little boy with his middle name being Bernard, a very Marian saint. I miss him very much.

After Jonathan I fell again and that pregnancy ended in another miscarriage. So I am quietly joyful but not overly confident with this pregnancy.

In God's infinite mercy and wisdom he will decide if this baby remains here with us or he takes it for himself once again, either way I will accept the outcome. With sadness obviously if Our Lord decides to take this baby.

I have to have progesterone injections twice a week to help my levels along the way this is although painful a real blessing.    Thank you God.

Does anyone have a really good pregnancy diet health regime to share as I really want to make the best effort possible to keep myself well spiritually, mentally and physically?

I am going to Mass regularly and calling heavily upon Mother Mary for help and she never fails me. I am also starting on Terramin Red Desert Clay very soon to assist my health. I am trying to remain peaceful.

For any members that know me from Australia, I am keeping this news very quiet only telling family, very close friends and here on the forum. So please keep it close to your chest - I don't won't to go through the "I've lost the baby again" if I don't have to.
Once I know things are safe then I will tell more people or my tummy may do the talking - hopefully.

If anyone has some good advice that they would like to share with me I would be very grateful to hear it.

God Bless
Thank you
Chemai

I want to tell you first that I am praying much for you. At almost 41, I gave birth to our John-Paul after losing 7 consecutive pregnancies. There is hope!

I would encourage you to check out Dr. Brewer's Diet. It helps a lot of things and it's a good plan even for low risk moms.

Hi,
I am also a success story, after 8 losses (7 of them consecutive) I gave birth to Samuel this past February. I drank lots of water and took mega folic acid, among other things. Keeping my blood sugar under control was also a priority because I have a history of gestational diabetes.

good luck, I'm praying for you!

Dear Ladies,
Can I ask if you come back to this post, did you ever find out what was causing your miscarriages?

I think you are remarkable. Yes, there are Mum's and women out there that have gone through much more than me and have come out with a successful pregnancy - thank God. It really shows the mercy of God and his infinite love for us.

Congratulations on both your little boys.
I am currently looking at the Brewer's diet and will print out a copy to take to the supermarket so I can get going on at least some of the recommendations. Also I have started keeping a bottle of purified water constantly by my side to keep me hydrated.

Thank you for your words of wisdom and taking the time to add some tips and I will be praying for you both as well.
God bless
C

Well, I had some pretty extensive testing done, with not much to show for it. The only thing that came back suspicious was the test for the genetic mutation, MTHFR. This showed that I have two mutations of that particular gene, and therefore I am at risk for blood clots, and also folic acid deficiency. I was immediately put on mega doses of folic acid (while I was pregnant I had to take 5 mg each day). I also had a specialist who felt that, based on my history, I might have high insulin levels. He put me on metformin, which they often use to treat PCOS patients, and it really helps to lower their miscarriage rate. I don't know if I'll ever know if one or both of these treatments made a difference....or if it was the power of prayer! All I know is I can hardly believe he is here!

Good luck!

Dear Kerry,

Praise God for your little one. You are blessed.
It could have been a combination of all those 3 things.

It's a hard one isn't it when you just don't know or not sure. We are suspecting for me low progesterone for my miscarriages but for my early labour they could only speculate a infection or sickness as I was pretty unwell when I went into early labour. All I know is I hope that doesn't happen again. It was a trip and a half.

Well you never know what God has in store for you. What we have to go through to have these babies. Eve's decision must have really upset God.

God Bless
C
