A question for all of you who has had experience battling the yeast problem:

How did you determine that yeast IS/WAS the problem? Was it a doctor who told you, or did you read about symptoms and self-diagnosed, or did you get help from a homeopath?

Reason I ask, is that for some time now I've suspected that this may be the root of my dh's problems. He's been tested for food allergies (yeast isn't on the list) and keeping away from his triggers has helped, but I keep thinking there may be an underlying problem that hasn't been addressed. Our dr. hasn't mentioned it (and she's an integrative practitioner, i.e., is into nutritional healing, acupuncture, herbal medicine, etc. besides being an MD), and my most trusted online resource, Dr. Weil, brushes candida problems off as unfounded.

I do have the book Prescription for Nutritional Healing, but I'd like to get more information before I change dh's diet. (He's already staying away from bread, but not from sugars, etc.)

I did an online comprehensive questionaire and it came out overwhelmingly on the side of Yeast. I brought it to my holistic doctor and after reviewing my history and looking over the questionaire she agreed with me, but said that the proof would be on how I reacted to the diet. I helped me immensely...so I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
