Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is not meant to be a whiny post...just looking for any advice.

I'm having symptoms of a cold, maybe allergies, not sure. But my sinuses are mainly blocked on one side of my nose, with that same side eye watering. I say blocked, but although I can't breathe or blow my nose through the nostril, it's running like a faucet. I've never experienced one-sided congestion like this, esp. the eye part.

I'm doing my normal routine, Vit C, fluids, saline solution. I'll try steam tomorrow...but I was wondering if I'm missing something, esp. with it being so unilateral?

Huh. That's how I get colds sometimes--runny, congested, tonsil swollen and sore on one side; then it'll move to the other side. Maybe it "runs" in the family, hee hee.

Usually the way I treat it is to gripe about it, marvel that I have one-sided colds, and, if I'm really busy, plug the runny side with a tissue. Does that help? Oh, and call Mom so she can say, "I'm sorry, baby." That helps, too.

Jenn, I've had this before with allergies and colds, and yeah, it seems weird, I know.

One thing that may help, if you haven't tried it already, is to lay on the opposite side of the congestion. Gravity kicks in, and helps increase the drainage, and therefore your comfort.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm...I have experienced one side clogged before, but this was sinus pressure and eye streaming only one side of my face. Actually never had the eye watering before, so that was my concern.

I did lay on the opposite side...when I'm sleeping it's a little better. And the tissue was definitely up there to stop the running.

Thanks...I'll just chalk it up to cold symptoms.
