I would like to have a sing-along type music CD for my little ones. I would like something Catholic. I ran across "Catholic Songs for Children" in a catalog. The information says it includes all the songs from the Sing-a-long Songs for Catholic Children DVD.
Does anyone have this CD? Any recommendations?

I have the dvd. It is cute. Definitely very Catholic. We like, "Why did God Make Us" a lot, but then sometimes the Catholic thing is a stretch. Its been a while since I've listened to it, but there is a song about the sacraments that has the phrase "extreme unction" which, well, its not exactly singable or poetic, lol. Overall, though we like it.
You also might consider the Making music, praying twice cds. They aren't ALL Catholic, but there are Catholic songs throughout, and the variety might be a nice thing for the car instead of all Catholic/all silly/all religious/etc...

I would suggest Sing Little Children cd by Danny Schneible.
Sing Little Children
I have it linked on the bottom of my blog so I can pull up a song for my kids anytime. They love them, especially "Little Baby Jesus."

Hi, Robina ~
I fixed the link....thanks for sharing that. I'm always looking for new CDs and music!
Here's a little tutorial for Making a Link:
********How to add a Link***********
Look in the little box where you would normally enter a reply. There are several helpful buttons here. Do you see the one that has a CHAIN LINK over a GLOBE - that's the button you'll need to push to add a link. Click it.
It asks you for the "the on screen display text for the Hyperlink"...this means what do you want it to say when someone reads your link....I could have entered shelf, or display shelf...I chose to use the description on the Target page so I entered "Kidcraft Sling Bookshelf". Now, click OK. You aren't quite done...one more step!
The little window now wants the web address for your link - it says "Enter the URL address to create Hyperlink to". Copy the address for the web page exactly as you see it and enter it in this section. Click OK.
You've made a link!
A couple of tips -
** links are always added to the very end of the body of text....so if you've been typing away and you suddenly remember you want to add a link, you can do that, but your link is going to show up at the very end of your typing, not necessarily where you placed your cursor to make that link. You'll just need to make the link and then copy and paste it where you want it.
** you cannot just copy a web address and drop it in the body of text at 4Real and have it be an active or hot link. The code for our forums **automatically** inserts a space at random in the code disabling it. If you want to insert a link somewhere, you'll have to use the little link button! And, surely you must know how much we all LOVE LINKS!!!
Happy linking everyone!

Cat Chat has a music only cd that has all the songs from all their cds. The music is very catchy and perfect for singing along.

What about Carol Fisher? Definitely Catholic and I love the songs where she puts prayers and bible verses/stories to song. Lyrics are included with the CD in a small booklet. I have Sing Bible Prayer Songs and Hug Me Jesus. We like them both.

Oooh! We have some good ones!
My children LOVE "Kids Sing For Jesus"--totally Catholic.
You can find it here. We found it in the "Catholic Child" catalog.
We also LOVE Mary Zitnik's "Totally Catholic Kids" which you can find here
My kids are 2 and 4, but I had Mary Z's Cd recommended by a mom with a child who is 8...so...I would say the 2-8, or 2-10 range.
God Bless,
Maggie
Enjoy!!

There are 3 samples on the CHC website/catalogue.
We have:
::Sing Bible Prayer Songs
::Let the Children Come To Me. Vol.1
::Kids Sing for Jesus
::Cat Chat
::Skip Count Bible Heroes CD
By FAR, our favorite is Kids Sing for Jesus!!!!! This is the gift I get for lots of Baptisms. Love it!
There are lots that I've never seen before on these 3 pages of Catholic Music Network
There is also a Catechism CD put to music, for littles, that I keep wanting to buy...no one has mentioned it here, but it's been in other threads....I'll try to find it later.

Heather,
I don't know of any other links to hear Carol's music. I checked out the CHC link and I just wanted to add more lyrics to the clip of 'Fantastic Day'. I really like this song, it reminds me how to approach each day. The chorus for this song is "My God I offer you this day, All that I think do and say, Uniting it with what was done, On earth, By Jesus Christ, your son."
Here are some brief descriptions of other songs on 'Sing Bible Prayer Songs' that might give you a feeling for what is typical on the two albums I mentioned.
2. Bible Song - books of the bible to a catchy tune
3. Clapping My Hands - hand motion song tells how kids can praise the Lord by: obeying mom and dad, sharing, saying sorry, being honest, and going to Mass and receiving Communion (how cool is that!)
7. Naaman - bible story of Namaan (About the bible story songs on this album and 'Hug Me Jesus', I think there is very little embellishment. Mainly bible verse put to music.)
8.St.Joseph - tells how St. Joseph always obeyed God and protected the Holy Family.
9. Enough Bread - bible story of the loaves and fishes.
14. Angel, my Angel - all about our Guardian Angels.
The other album, 'Hug Me Jesus', is just as good.

Does anyone remember the title of a cassette tape of Catholic songs from many (maybe 10 or 11) years ago...
The songs include:
"John Paul II, We love you, we support all that you do,while at work or rest or play we will pray for you each day..."
"My only desire is to be a a saint..."
It is children singing with an adult and she accomnpanies them on piano.
I wish I could remember the title!
