We recently received a box with biodegradable packing peanuts as filler (my first clue was the dog trying to eat them- they are made from starch ).

I put them in a bowl with a plate of toothpicks beside them (after putting the toothpicks in a pretty cup and poking myself trying to get them out).

The kids are having a ball with these- building all kinds of things. My ds this morning has made a Spud chair (from Bob the Builder) and a Spud to sit in it.

Ah, cheap summer fun!

On another note, we did the toothpicks with marshmellows recently and that was fun, too!
