Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Good morning!

I've had my eye on Moira Farrell's Home Catechesis for 3-6 for a while. Is three a good age to start? My oldest is just turning three and showing a fair amount of interest in what's happening at Mass, making the sign of the cross, he's picking up the Lord's Prayer, and I hear him reciting to himself parts on the Bible stories we're reading.

The description on the website isn't too detailed, so I'm hoping you ladies can fill it in for me!

Also, would you recommend purchasing the mini-Mass Kit at the same time? Or can everything truly be made for the presentations?

Thanks so much!

I highly recommend the Mass Kit - it is just so difficult to find all the materials separately and have them beautifully coordinate (hard and time consuming, but not impossible - still filling in with items you just can't get elsewhere (mini censor!).

Yes, 3 is the perfect age! When you start sooner, you'll be able to take more time with it and have a gentler process of making the materials.

Go for it. A mass kit and a home made sacristy and altar are a huge hit with boys and girls. I doubt you would regret it.

Or consider finding an atrium in your area.

Thank you for all the responses. I'll go for it! I definitely want to have our home altar set up this summer/fall. I'm waiting for my husband to finish building his pipe organ so I can get back into the front room!
