Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Today we made homemade playdough, again. My kids though 11, 10 and 8, still love playdough. It being Saint Patrick's Day I added green food coloring. Here is the recipe . . . I adapted it and this is the one I made up.

2 and 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1/ 2 cup of salt
1 cup of warm water with food coloring of your choice
2 tablespoons of oil
20 squirts of hand lotion

Knead. Store in a plastic bag for later.

I love the no cooking part of this recipe--what kind of hand lotion do you use?

I used the Jergens Ultra Healing hand lotion today, the kind I keep by the sink for after doing dishes. It worked great. Used regular oil, just vegetable oil, store brand. No cooking of the dough, just the warm water. The lotion makes the dough smell good. The kids played with the dough a good hour then put it in ziplock bags to keep for later. Oh used plain ol all purpose flour, cheap stuff bought just for playdough and kid craft/experiments, not my good King Arthur. Once in a pinch I used baby oil instead of cooking oil, and that worked too.

Thanks for the info--I make A LOT of playdough, and I will love not having to cook it.

Oh, I've been procrastinating making dough for a week now...this might just give me the motivation I need!
