Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi ladies,

I stumbled across somtheing and wanted to share it with you, Fables of the Green Forest. It's a cartoon series based on Thornton Burgess Animal stories. I eagerly ordered it and for those of you who may be concerned (like I was) they are very good quality DVDs! If it's within your budget I recommend you buy the 5 volumes to get the inkjet printed discs.

Have a BLESSED week!

Oh, the memories!   I had no idea these were "obscure," as the web page says. We watched them all the time as young children. I guess it must have been a Canadian production? (Though, to my adult eyes, the animation is clearly of the low-budget Japanese variety.)

Anyway, just have to say that I loved everything about this show, including the theme song.

"Peter Rabbit hippity-hops,
The mean old weasel growls,
Grandpa Froggy flippity-flops,
And Sammy Bluejay howls..."

And I have a vivid memory of running across a field, at age 5, imagining that I was Johnny Woodchuck.

Thanks for posting this and taking me back. I think we'll have to violate the Montessori approach to fantasy (which is more honored in the breach than the observance these days), and share this series with our children.

The DVDs sure are pricey, though.
