Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

CAn anyone tell me what bead material will do double duty as the addition & subtraction snake game? If i start with the decanomial box, what else do i then need? how many black and white and gray bead stairs?

I note that alisons has a black and white box for $29, but i guess i'd need gray ones for subtraction too?

I was thinking i'd just get the subtraction snake game and use it for both...

thoguhts?

It seems that most people tend to purchase the elementary level negative (subtraction) snake game and pull pieces from that as needed for the various levels. Cost-effectivenss is definitely improved, but the question arises "how does the child remember that a work is avialable" and the answer varies for each situation. (at first, you would just have addition work out anyway, then the subtraction, so the first several months, it doesn't seem like a huge deal).
(This is what I"m just about to do this evening actually - my son is not quite ready, but I want to use also pull some of the bead stairs to use with the teens/tens which he IS ready for - we'll get to the decanomial bead bar box later.... I figure these will be our two big bead purchases (we already have the long/short chains and squares/cubes, as well as the golden bead set - I love ebay!)

HTH.
