Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In order to figure out where to begin with the montessori at home? those of you who are experienced with montessori would be able to glean what level a child was at by watching him interact with the materials. I however, need to acquire materials (and a plan) from a particular jumping off point. Although i am starting at 'elementary' i'm sure there is alot of overlap. What kinds of things should i ask the teacher(s) to get the best info toward this end?

I don't want to start throwing work at him that is not a logical progression from where he is...

Don't they give you a progress report of some kind so you can see which work he's completed?

Otherwise, just ask what the most recent work he's done in each curricular area, and do the next thing.

yeah, you'd think, but they focus more on skills than on the work that gets the child there, so i don't know where he is in terms of the sequence of work.

Can you go in and observe for a day or two? Perhaps that would be the best way to get a feel for what he is doing. And while you are there you can ask about other materials that he may have already gone through.
