Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have the blue and green language series from two different places. Green is on hold, for the moment. Right now, I have similar activities stored in plastic pencil boxes. It works OK, but it's a lot of pencil boxes - one for picture/word matching, one for sentence strips, one for word lists, one for sight words. I would like to break these up even further, by separating each series into smaller groups of phonograms, so that my ds can do these more independently without waiting for me to separate out a smaller group of materials from the big box of blue picture/word matching cards, for example.

Any ideas?

You might try a sort of a rotation method. Use the same pencil boxes on your shelves, but only put a smaller amount of materials (two or three phonograms, etc) in them at a time. Keep the rest in a folder or file so you can rotate them out as needed.
That is sort of what I am doing for our pink series. I have 5 or 6 pink pencil boxes, but they only have right now in them materials for the a and o sounds, since that is what we are working on. I will rotate or add more sounds as we cover them. This way they are pre-sorted for her and she only has access to the ones I have presented and know she can work with. I keep the rest in a pink zipper pouch in my cabinet so I can find them when I need them.
Hope that helps.

This is a great idea Theresa, and another Teresa sent me some wonderful photos of her three part card storage in Cd plastic sleeves, this might work for smaller sets as they fit nicely into a three ring binder or the actual CD cases. Zippered Pencil cases could work too

Thanks, Theresa and Meredith. I can easily do something like that - keeping them up until we get to them. Do you plan on keeping more out as they learn more sounds? Right now, he is almost through the blue stuff - close to moving on to green materials; so that is why I want to find a way to have a lot out, but displayed in smaller groups or something. I may just have to buy a new shelf just for pencil boxes! The notebook idea may work, too - he could easily access smaller groups of materials from there, too, and a notebook wouldn't take up too much space. Hmmmmm....
