Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A lot of my new items already have chipped paint, and a couple arrived that way. For instance, one of my pink tower cubes, one of my geometric solids, and several of my Melissa and Doug stacking pieces literally came out of the box with chipped paint. I'm not going to call or send anything back, since these things were destined to get chipped up anyway here at my house, but I was a little disappointed.

Two of my knobbed cylinders have had the knobs pop out in the first week - nothing a little glue can't fix, but come on! I also got a geo tracking board and the knob actually broke into two pieces. I should send that back, but I'm too lazy, I'll just glue it.

Also, my brown stair from MO came and it is brown lacquered. I thought that it would be stained wood. Is this the normal for the brown stair? I don't know how I missed that in the description. Love this item, though, and ALL my kids have enjoyed working with it.

Overall, after getting most of my boxes, the thing that impresses me the most about the materials, is that all of my kids have been engaged by them. Even my 10 year old has pulled out all of the items and spent time with everything. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel challenged trying to work with all four knobbed cylinder blocks? Maybe that one goes here, or here, or maybe....uh, here?

Wow. I guess I just got really lucky with all of my items arriving in perfect condition and nothing breaking yet.

The knobbed cylinders are a favorite here. DD is a wiz at them, though the most she has tried is two at a time. Ds has not tried them yet. I may introduce them to him today, or perhaps next week.

My 5-year-old is my official knobbed cylinder replacer! He can do all four amazingly fast!
My cylinders (bought from Alison's last year) often stick and sometimes the knobs come off and need to be reglued. The stickiness bothers me more, b/c it sometimes frustrates the kids. I may try some sort of oil or candle wax as a friend suggested.

Just FYI, I know Alison's carries paint for touch ups. They also have spare baby pink cubes.

Sorry your items weren't perfect. I hope the call goes well.
