Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am committed to combining studies with my kiddos as much as possible. This will be fairly easy for me for science, nature, and art. But I am having a little harder time envisioning exactly how this is going to work for geography. Anyone else combining ages for this subject and want to share ideas?

Weeeellll...

I am combining ages...I will show the older how to do different presentations and then go more in depth with the older set..more research. My line up is 13,13,almost12,8,almost7,4,2. I am trying to put the pieces parts together. The older ones will have a notebooking thing going with their 3 ring binder. I am hand making dividers like my continent boxes..with a pic of the continent on top...color coded. We will include books we have read from each continent too...and maps...I am too tired to wrap my mind completely around it, but you have the general gist. We have been using Richard Halliburton's Complete Book of Marvels as recommended by Mater Amabilis. We are journaling our "travels" in interesting ways and internet links and hands-on projects...centers too... and oh yeah, the little ones will be slowly making a kinda passport/travel brochure thingy....more later...I am halfway done with a blog post about it. Wanna see it?..hopefully I will finish it by Tues.

wow..now THAT whole post sounds as clear as MUD It is really not as complicated as it sounds!

God love you!

Donna Marie, you crack me up!!!!
I am also pretty tired after spending all evening shopping for back to school clothes with 17yo dd ( I despise the mall!).I'll get some of my ideas up tomorrow, hopefully, after I've recovered my sanity. Mass should help with that, though the collection plate may be a tad light this week.

Oh My!! My older two (11 & almost 9) will do much of the Geography work together research style. My 5yo will be working mainly "Montessori in the Classroom" style (Theresa, you gotta get that one!!) with tracing and learning all the puzzle placement and just enjoying all the reading and talk about all the different countries and how they relate to the rest of the world. I am SO in love with all my Continent Kit materials and he will have MANY nomenclature lessons with all the great cards

Donna Marie, will you link your post for us dear, right here whenever it's ready
