Just had to share, the Target $1 Spot is full of montessori goodness! I found (but didn't actually buy all this, I tried to just get the bare necesities):
-small globes
-flash cards (presidents, states and math)
-educationial wipe-off placemats (math and geography)
-puzzles (numbers, colors, US map)
-board books (colors, states, etc)
-clothespins in a bowl
-mats to cut up for constructive triangles
-index card envelopes for 3-part cards
-napkin holders for 3-part card display
-little farm animals for math or language
-file folder holders for storing envelopes of 3-part cards
-ice cube trays and pom poms for tonging
-a pocket card holder with clear vinyl pockets I might use for grammar boxes or number cards ( I should have bought more of these now that I have it at home I am thinking of all sorts of uses)
-binder dividers
-stickers, foamies, construction paper, stamps, name tags, pens (ok these probably aren't montessori)
And to top it all off the stackable shelves that Jennifer (MackFam) used in her learning room are on sale for $9.74!
Woohoo!

Awesome!! I also scored on the clothespins, and states, and presidents flashcards. I ALMOST picked up the clear pocket holders for the three-part card storage, but I wasn't sure if they would really work, let me know how you like them! My Target was pretty cleaned out already, but you did GREAT!!! I wish I would have remembered the shelves, I completely forgot to look for them Aah, the joys of shopping with small children
Blessings!

Marianna and I grabbed the very last tiny globe at the Target on the mainland this week. She is so very excited, perfect size for her cabin and I'm pleased, it's nicely detailed for such a tiny little thing!
Thanks for telling us about them, Andrea!

I got two of those globes to paint and make land/water and continents globes. So far just the land/water is painted--amazing how many sets of islands and whatnot! But the girls are enjoying them, and I was happy painting a cheaper globe :)

I too really had a blast with the $1 part of Target -- got some great things (incl a "lesson plan book" where I can write down what we do ...)...I love visiting the $1 part, but it's amazing how quickly it adds up, though

Thank you for the heads up on the globes. I bought two to make the land/water and continent globes.

<gulp> I agree! There have been great deals and ideas shared at this wonderful 4Real forum. I think my dh is going to ban me from here.

I agree the $1 Spot can be dangerous- you really need to use responsibly!

Thanks for the tip. I sent in my hubby so that I wouldn't over spend! LOL. Now we have our own land and water globe at home. (our other one migrated to the atrium)
Walmart didn't even carry mini globes this year!
