Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I made up some game cards. I call it "science war" (for lack of imagination on my part). It is basically like a deck of cards, with four sets of cards numbered 1 through 10. The "suits" are minerals with 1-10 according to mohs hardness scale, elements 1-10, solar system (planets and sun), and geometry, which isn't really science, but oh well.
Anyway, you play the game like war, hence the name. Very simple. My hopes is that it will familiarize the kids with the various things on the cards just by playing the game (knowing that quartz beats calcite, for example). If you wanted to make the game tougher, you could make up a set without the numbers on them, and then they would HAVE to know which mineral is hardest, which planet is where, etc.
I tried to make them about the same size as standard playing cards, but you may have to fiddle with them a bit to get them just right.
Another thing you could do is just have little ones pin one set at a time onto clothes lines in the proper order.
So, anyway, here it is if anyone wants it:science war cards

These are so cool. Now I just need to look up how you play War... 'Bet my husband knows.

And please, tell me how you manage to do all this. I can't even get the dishwasher loaded.
