Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone read this book? Do you think it is a good summary and comprehensive?

For those who have chosen to teach their children in a classical manner but are not following a prepared curriculum, how do you choose your materials?

The summaries are at Ambleside Online. You could look at it to see if it would be worth your while to buy it or just read it online.

I choose my materials through lots and lots of research. When I first started out, I read lots of the WTM forums to get a feel of what was out there and what would fit our family. I also scoured homeschool catalogues.
