Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

i had Sonlight - and my school year was planned.

then, due to circumstances that occurred over on the SL forums and feeling principled, i sent my whole order back.

and now i am floundering.

i have a wedding in 3 weeks from today.
my ibs & anxiety are thru the roof.
i need to be planning school...and i am stuck.

:(

i have bits and pieces and lesson plans from A Little Garden Flower, Oak Meadow, WP...I would like to be able to purchase Christopherus for dd7....but it is 'spensive.
(i have the 1st grade lesson plans, but not the other supporting books....)

i so did not want to try to pull together something myself this year.

but that looks to be where i am at.

I'm sorry your plan didn't work out. Maybe you can have a more laid-back plan for the year with the bits and pieces you already have. I've had those years...

Hang in there! <<<<<<<<<Hugs!>>>>> ;>>>

JoAnna, still finishing up the schoolyear with a couple of kids!

Is it possible for you to use the SL books without the plans! I have always chosen from their booklists and then done our own thing as far as lesson plans, never could follow theirs anyhoo

I will pray for your discernment over what to do, and maybe this IS the year to slow down and approach it with a less-is-more feeling

Many blessings,

I thought I'd invite you to look at my learning blog I have a seven year old too. Hit the Mariah label or scroll down. Now my plans may be very different from your approach but it may help as they are all homemade. I have never purchased a curriculum for various reasons, and this is the first time I have ever written them in such detail. Hope they may help.

Oh if you follow the link on my sidebar' Cherished Hearts Learning at Home' that is my dear friend Gae who uses a far more Waldorf approach than I and she has children your child's age. Her plans may probably suit you better.

Just wondering how you are going in your planning?

Laura--Can you plan a late start to your school year? Get through the wedding and then give yourself the rest of August to wrap your brain around school, planning to start after Labor Day and perhaps finish up a little bit later than usual if need be?
You're going to be okay, and your kids are going to be great too--you're the only mom they have because you're the only mom they need, so take your time and let your focus go where it needs to for now. Than take time to regroup.
THe motto we repeated over and over again in missions was "I don't know what's next, but it's gonna be great...." Keep chanting that over the next few weeks and know that we are here to help you hash it out and kick it into gear when the time comes.
