Well.....today has proven to be interesting with my little RADish (ds)!

We had a little family Valentine party last night, and it was too much "good stuff" for him, so today he's been a terror. Called therapist and here's the new part. He is sitting on a little blanket, sorting legos by color. After that, I give him a new task, like building something with the legos. Then after that another small task, and so on, until he can control himself a bit. Hmmm.....so far it is working, but I am feeling like maybe it's me that is in lock down with this method. KWIM?

However, I did just hear him saying a Hail Mary under his breath. I am praying for his heart to be opened daily with the 54 day novena. I want to reach him so badly--he has the potential, just not the desire yet.

But it is certainly very encouraging to hear him say a Hail Mary.

Thanks for the encouragement, Helen. Nobody here "gets it" and that can be very discouraging.

Ds did not do his task as directed, so tomorrow we will continue. Boy-someday he will have the stick-to-it-tiveness to really get things done!

Sure Liz, it's hard to explain why asking a child to complete a task can be so difficult. But it is very difficult.

Keep up the good work, Liz. I understand what it's like trying to reach a child that doesn't want to be reached - don't sell yourself or your son short, you are making good progress!

And it's great that he's praying to help him cope!
