Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Success! James (almost 9) has always avoided reading and schoolwork whenever he could. But it has finally kicked in.
Firstly, he realised that Peter (6) would be doing the same Maths level he was doing (year 3). He admitted he was bored and wanted to try Saxon 54. He is doing very well at that.
He also finally decided to read more. I have a marvellous photo (how can I post photos?) of James reading with two of his younger siblings listening and Ariel (13) doing Cross Stitch next to him. And he volunteered to read!

Woohoo. Joint happy dance by Mum and Dad!

Woo Hoo! Congratulations!! I too have a master escape artist when it comes to schoolwork ( we jsut call him houdini) He truly is a master of leaving the room without anyone noticing...aaaand he is also 9. we still struggle, but it is getting easiser and my spiritual muscles are quite a bit bigger than they used to be! I keep having to recommit my will to ensuring they all stay on task...there is nothing like seeing some success and light in the midst of struggle....way to go!! **applause** ;o)
