Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Somewhere in Love and Responsibility, the HOly Father (though he wasn't one yet) writes about family size--encouraging three or more. I can't find my copy and the local Catholic bookstore has none so---could someone dig this quote up for me. I'm trying to incorporate it into a column.

I found this one on page 242

"The parents creat the family as a complement to and extension of their love. To create a family means to create a community, since the family is a social unit or else it is not family. To be a community it must have a certain size. This is a most obvious in the context of education. For the family is an educational institution within the framework of which the personality of a new human being is formed. If it is to be correctly formed it is very important tha this human being should not be alone, but surrounded by a natural community. We are sometimes told that it is easier to bring up several children together that on ony child, and also that two children are not a community- they are two only children. It is the role of the parents to direct their children upbringing, but under their direction the children educate themselves, because they develop within the framework of a community of children, a collective of siblings."

Yes Natalia! That's it. Already sent the column off--but maybe it's a whole new column in the making.
