...by emercency C-Section last Friday, August 4th Bridget Claire was born a t 6:52p.m. weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces and 20 inches . At 6:54 p.m. Sean Francis followed weighing in at 6 pounds 10 ounces and 20 1/2 inches.
He is a tow headed blond and she is a brunette with huge eyes. They look nothing alike.
Both are beautiful and healthy and wonderful. Thank you so much for your prayers.
I ended up with an emergency c-section because I had pre-eclampsia (spell?). Unfortunately the very high blood pressure did not disappear at birth and my lungs filled with fluid for 48 hours. This caused some damage to my heart and now I am not able to nurse the babies due to the meds I have to take for my heart and hypertension. This is heartbreaking to me because the nursing was going really well and the three of us were so happy. The situation is likely to reslove itself with meds but it can take as long as six to eight months.
But momma has to stay healthy right?
I haven't posted to my blog or any of my lists yet because my laptop is still out of commission - I am borrowing my dad's at the moment. Feel free to post on the MO list or whereever you think people have been praying for us. As soon as the laptop is fixed (hoping by Monday) I'll post tons of pictures.
Thanks again dear friends for all of your prayers and love during this time - I am immensely grateful.

Oh, and , Mary Ellen! You are so blessed...twice-fold.
I have a friend here who experienced this same thing after having her twins (also boy/girl) in Sept. Three days later they evacuated due to Hurricane Rita. They were staying in Mississippi with family and she found she couldn't breath. Her dh took her to the hospital and well, it's a long story. But she also had to take meds and couldn't nurse her twins. But she's so thankful to be alive. She's doing 100% better and her twins are beautiful!!!
Let me know if you'd like me to put her in touch with you. Another weird note: she had five dc already before having the twins. Weird, huh!
Congratulations again!! I'm so happy for all of you. LOVE the names!

Mary Ellen,
Congratulations! I'm so glad your babies arrived safely and are healthy. I'll keep all of you in my prayers. I had severe pre-eclampsia with Maggie last summer, and have been on blood pressure meds since then. Take heart, though, 'cause it almost always returns to normal, as mine seems to be. The meds are a drag, but your babies need you healthy, first and foremost. PM me if you need to talk to someone who's BTDT.

Ah, Mary Ellen, congrats to you! What a row of beautiful Irish names! Bummer about the nursing and health issues Maybe the bright side is that the siblings can help feed the babies. My children loved getting a chance to participate in the feedings when Paddy was bottle-fed.

Wonderful news, congratulations! And praise God everyone is healthy and safe. Those babies were huge for twins. You must be a bit relieved to have them on the outside. I'm so happy for you.

Mary Ellen and family, congratulations congratulations times two. You did a fine job growing two healthy babies. Welcome Bridget and Sean!
Sorry for your health scare. That is sad about the breast feeding, but you have the right attitude that babies need healthy momma's.
Let the babymoon(s) begin

Congratulations Mary Ellen and family!
I know you are disappointed about the nursing, but God knows best and there is always a reason even if we can't see it right away. Willa is right about the benefits of bottle-feeding for siblings and Dad, too. I am just glad you are okay and your babies are healthy.
God bless you and your sweet, sweet babes! Savor every moment. My Emily is already SO big!

Congratulations Mary Ellen!
I'm sad to hear about the twins traumatic entry and your compromised health but am happy to hear that you're on the mend and that the twins are happy and healthy!
And you have a great attitude about the bottle feeding!
WELCOME BRIDGET CLAIRE AND SEAN FRANCIS!
