Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone recommend a good (free?) filter/blocker to protect kids from getting onto inappropriate sites?

Thanks!

We use K9 Protection. It was recommended to us by someone who knows a lot about this stuff.   It's worked well so far. i don't think anything is 100%, but I think this one is good. you can also install it on your mobile devices.

We use K9, also, and we have for about 5 years. I like it.

Wow, K-9 works really well. So well, in fact, that my Swagbucks search pages now don't load completely . . . Do I need to go back and make Swagbucks an "exempt" site? I'm still trying to figure out the best configuration for making my computer immune to midnight wanderers in my house, but useable by me as normal.

How have you experienced K-9 users set yours up?

Sally

Yes, you can mark Swagbucks as an exception.

We have ours set to "Moderate", I think, and sometimes I'll log in as "Administrator" for 15 minutes or so in the morning so that I can browse without any blocks on YouTube, etc.

For times when we are away from the computer, and don't want kids to get on it, we have ours' set to require a password whether turn off completely or just when hibernated. I realize this doesn't help if you want kids to be able to access everything but the internet, but it has worked so far for us.
