Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for some input. Our parish owns a former residential camp, and our priest, who is incredibly supportive of homeschooling, is interested in beginning to host a weeklong homeschool family camp, and he's asked my husband and I to assist him.
Right now, the idea is in the rough planning stages, but it would most likely take place at the end of June .There are several A-frame cabins and space for tent camping. there's swimming, boating and fishing available. Fr. is willing to offer daily Mass
What types of features or activities would you be interested in to make this attractive for your family? Obviously, cost is a huge factor. What else?
We're meeting with Fr. next week, and I'd love to have some feedback for him.

If your homeschool community is small enough you might find out what time of the year might be better than others.

They do family camps here (not homeschooling only) but none are scheduled early enough in the year, once we get into June, my kids do swim team, my dh is a wildland firefighter and generally unavailable from then until October..

But that and cost would be my biggest concerns.

The other thing for me would be how things are scheduled for the ages of the kids.. I mean keep in mind that parents with a large family have many ages to juggle and can only split in so many directions. We can't be with the toddler crowd and helping our younger school aged children and attending an adult meeting at the same time

I've been running a homeschool camp for 13 years now. We begin our day with Mass, end with Benediction and the Rosary. Our mornings are spent at the beach or with organised activities, these include all ages babies through to young adults. Our afternoons we have catechetics with our priests and then free time at the beach. Nights we have more organised activities once again for all ages. Then little ones off to bed and the older ones and parents have more fun.
