I am wondering if any dance/ballet moms here can give me any tips on ballet tights.

My dd is tall, and she has had to move up to the adult small size for the length. I have been able to buy fairly inexpensive tights at Walmart and Target so far, but now these stores don't have pink tights in her size that would be suitable.

Her last pair came from the local ballet store, and they lasted no longer than the Walmart/Target tights as far as being durable, though they cost three times as much.

Where else can I look?

We really like Bloch (my oldest daughter, 13, prefers Capezio). We like to buy them at All About Dance.

We buy our Capezio tights from DiscountDance.com. You have to know exactly what you want, though, because you can't return tights.

My daughter does not use hers every day, but I'm still pretty strict about how they are stored/washed, because being careful with them makes them last much longer.

My dd15 buys her own- don't know if that helps with the looking after them, but it is on her!

We used to always by Bloch (her last school was VERY fussy and required a very specific pink), but now buy the Dancing Fair tights which are less expensive. My dd likes them because they have a much more comfy waistband.

We use Body Wrappers A31 for oldest and C31 for the younger crowd. Discount Dance is a great online place for it. My girls are very good with their tights and really don't get runs in them. They are sturdy. I really like these because the waistband is not very tight.

We use energetiks tights. Either xlge child or ladies small for a 14 near 15 year old. They are much stronger.
Dd does 5 days a week. We have only gone through 2 pairs. In fact they aren't worn through yet. We have a pair for Exam and performance.
Otherwise Bloch are ok.
