Sarah Regina was born 12/22. Birth weight; 9.5#, almost 23" long. Came home Christms Day. We could use prayers. she has lost 2#. weight check again in 2 days. Thanks.

thanks for the prayers. my milk has come in and i'm doing various ideas i found on a search of the forums: rest, plenty of liquids, oatmeal daily. she's not wetting or soiling like she should be, i'm to call the dr. the next time she does. she doesn't always latch on well- we're working on that.

I pray little Sarah gains weight like she is supposed to and that everything ends up being fine. She's still so, so young. I bet things will turn around in the next week.

sarah was back in the hospital for bilirubin lights for severe jaundice from 12/29-1/1. the first day she had iv fluids, due to dehydration. she had a combination of formula and pumped breast milk while there. i was able to stay with her the entire time. we discovered the latching problem is due to her putting her tongue on the roof her mouth when latching on. since we came home, i've found she latches on well only if i'm laying down with her on the bed with no pillows. i'll be using a combination of formula and pumped breast milk when we're not home and working towards exclusive nursing at home. she will have her hearing retested and a neurological test done in feb. as precautions. she is becoming more alert and wakes to feed
(she was very, very sleepy before).
