I have a Maya-wrap sling that I've used for the past 6 years, and I love it. I also have a pouch that I rarely use (just never got used to it and was always partial to my sling). But neither of those will accomodate twins very well. Any suggestions? The Mobi looks promising for carrying both babies, particularly in the newborn stage ... which is really what I'm aiming for, when they get older I can have one on my front and one on my back, but when they first arrive, I'd like to have them both in front. I would love suggestions!

I've heard of the Moby wrap being good.. also I've heard of people using two slings.. the wraps aren't all that hard to use.. and with baby on the front you can wrap and then tuck baby in.

I did the exact same thing you are doing...three girls, then twins (my twins were identical boys, btw)....
I didn't wear them. Bad back, neck, and shoulders...so I don't have any advice at all that way, only congratulations, and to suggest that you get three times as ready as you do for a singleton...(my perspective on that last may be skewed--mine were in the NICU for two weeks, and home for one after that before DH deployed to Iraq....and with no family, anywhere nearby able to help...yeah...)...
Just get your ducks in a row BIG time!
Congratulations, and GL!

Congratulations!!
I tried babywearing the girls a few times but I found it pretty uncomfortable and hard to do anything with TWO babies on me, so I didn't do it often. I put them both in the moby wrap or used two slings (new native) with one on each side.

Chris! How exciting! (Did you post somewhere that you're having twins, or is the first place you sneaked it in?)
Peace,
Nancy

Congratulations Chris!!! You will indeed be doubly blessed!
Dd, Pilgrim, used the Moby Wrap with her twins when they were pretty small, I'll try to get her to respond!
God bless you and those precious little ones!

When I had my twins, the Storchenweige wrap was recommended to me as being big and strong enough to accomodate wearing twins. I bought one... but without anybody to show me how, I never felt comfortable trying to wear them at the same time. And the wrap was so hard for me to figure out that I switched to pouches for my next 2 (singleton) babies.
I am, therefore, very little help!
But I will say (again) congratulations!!!

Oh, Chris, Congratulations!!!! One for each baby!
I'm so excited for you! Twins are awesome, the pregnancy can be difficult, and the first 3 mos or so were the hardest after they were born, but it is so fun to watch two Little Ones growing, playing together, developing, scheming, giggling, knowing what the other is thinking, etc.
As to the babywearing. I found the Mobywrap to definitely be the best, and it is actually so economical to buy one wrap intead of the other twin carriers I found out there. When they get older I found that I could still carry one in the Moby in the hug hold, or the one that's like that but baby facing out, I can't remember what it's called, and then the other baby in a backapck carrier like this(I found the evenflo one like this or the Gerry one that looks like this with the black plastic frame and stand, to be quite comfortable and yet still affordable). I still carry our singleton in the Moby in front while carrying a loaded backcountry backpack at the same time, I actaully find that as she gets heavier the weight in the backapack balances her out.
BTW, here is a neat picture that my Mom sent me while expecting the "twinners" as they were affectionately dubbed by dh. She also told me of the verse in the bible "you shall possess a double portion; yours shall be everlasting joy!" Isaiah 61:7. I loved that. After the twins were born she put togehter a binder for me with the pic hyperlinked above, and the ultrasound pics of our cutie pies, and the cutest picture of them as newborns, with the bible verse imposed over the pictures. I treasure it so very much!
Well I know I got a bit off topic, but twins are so exciting, cause for much !!!

I used to wear my "twins" at the same time now and then, though not as newborns (when my son came home to us, he was 4 months old and my daughter was 6 weeks old). when they were both still small and not too wiggly, I would put on both pouches, pop baby girl in one pouch, swing her around to the back, and then put my son in the other pouch on my front. That wasn't good for long carries, but it was useful for getting them to and from the car (we lived in an apartment at the time) or on a quick stop at the store. I didn't have my Moby at that point so I have never tried it with twins.
Hope you are able to find something that works for you, Chris--such a wonderful blessing!!

Thank you so much, Pilgrim! We are so very excited, and though we know the first few months will be overwhelming, I'm not worried one bit. All I can do is be the best Mommy I can be one day at a time. This is no time for overwhelm and panic . And I so very much appreciate the encouraging words, thank you!
I like the backpack idea - especially for when they are a bit older. Great idea! I actually already have a backpack, but it's not really geared toward younger infants - I like the one that you linked, it looks like it is really well padded in the front. The backpack I have doesn't have the padding and other good comfort features, so I don't use it until my babies are around a year old or more. I've always worn my babies from infancy to toddlerhood, and I just can't bear the thought that I would have to not wear them, just because there are two of them, so I'm determined to make it work .
And what a wonderful picture! I've never seen it before, perhaps I should print it out for myself ; it is so very beautiful, thank you for sharing with me.

Well, I added the *news* to my signature line a couple of weeks ago, and figured that eventually people would notice, and then I just forgot that it was even there, or whether I did or didn't tell people ... so a little sneaky, but not on purpose.

Thank you, everyone, for the encouraging words and well wishes. I *still* giggle everytime I say "babies" or "twins" aloud in conversation. Twins. Twins! What did I do to deserve such a blessing? Praising God for the both of them .

an excellent carrier for a back carry from newborn on.. is the ergo.. or a mei tai (watch out for the homemade ones.. some don't have enough structure to really be comfy over the long term)
