Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can ya'll help me brainstorm here, and figure out some ideas to help baby sleep better at night? She's going to be a year old next weekend, and she still wakes up anywhere from 3-8 times a night. I'm so tired and frustrated that I'm ready to just close her door and put in some ear plugs.

I've done everything you're supposed to do--we have a set bedtime routine, she goes to bed awake, I keep her room dark and quiet, she gets enough daytime sleep...I just can't get her to stay asleep. She still eats usually 2x a night. I know I should stop feeding her at night, I doubt she still needs those extra calories, but sometimes that's the only way she'll go back to sleep.

I keep her room warm, I try not to pick her up if I can help it, what else can I possibly do? Should I let her cry? I never had a baby up all night like this--usually by this age, if they woke up at all, it was only once a night and they just needed help finding their pacifier. I'm getting desperate here. She is such a sweet happy baby during the day, but she turns into this whiny, cranky baby in the night, and I don't understand why.

My son will be a one next week too. We have been having are ups and downs with night waking. Mostly he is really sensitive with teething and foods. If he has a little gas or his teeth are bothering him he wakes up easily at night. Is she teething or could she be having any issues with food? These are the things that come into my mind. It sounds like you have a really good routine for her. I am so grateful that my husband has some magic rocking trick to get him back to sleep and we take turns when its a hard night. Have you read the No Cry Sleep Solution. My sister had an extremely tricky night baby and when he was a year she did the tips in there and it worked perfectly.

When my dd was waking all the time it was due to food allergies. She was reacting to food in my diet. If you think this might be a possibility with your dd I would be more than happy to talk to you about it, please feel free to PM me.
