Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm ditching most of my plastic baby stuff and going with more organic and quality toys. I found several made in the USA rattles I like online, but I'm wondering, how heavy are these wooden rattles? Is my 5 month old going to knock herself out if she drops it on her face? are they for older babies?

It would depend on the particular item and maker I would think. I've had a couple that were fine and not any heavier/harder than a simliar plastic item.

ETA - I think this is one of the toys we have.. they're put away at the moment so I'm not 100% sure Pipapo

We have had babies hit themselves in the head with wooden rattles!

Some I save until they have good control. Others are lighter weight, like the one with two interlocking triangles.

Haba and Selecta are two brands I would recommend.

I would think that a 5 mo baby would have enough control to avoid self-injury!
