Have any of you used a crib tent to keep a climber in? He used to do so well being put in his crib to wind down...first child in eight to appreciate that.

I haven't had such an active toddler in many years. Someone has to be Elijah's shadow when I'm not around.

I'm considering just gating a bedroom and putting him in a toddler bed. Not sure if I can make it Elijah safe though ..he is quite industrious. Right now he is in my room. (in the crib and my bed). The new bedroom for him and his 2 brothers is not ready. At this age, I have usually had my lil ones in a toddler bed or just in mine.

Just not sure if this tent is worth it considering his age..or if he will go nuts being confined in that way

..gotta run he is moving furniture around ..and gave me a bottle of his vitamins off the top of the fridge.

no advice, Tammy........as we have never actually used a crib

but, I promise to pray for his safety! We always use a baby showdow here, for all toddlers. All of mine have been industrious little beings

I was going to purchase a crib tent this past summer for my ds, who was 19 months at the time. I ultimately ended up not getting one. We were in the middle of a move, so he was sleeping in a travel crib(crib tents don't work with travel cribs ), we were dirt broke , and I was hopeful he would soon learn to go to bed and stay there . He's still not going to bed well.
If I had it to do over again, I would try to get my hands on one.
Good luck with it. Toddlers are great, but they sure are persistent!

Yes, I purchased a crib tent for my eldest. She was so tall, even then, that she started climbing out of the crib well before eighteen months. After a pretty bad fall on her first attempt, I realized the crib tent would be a necessity for safety. She never minded it, and I called it her "play house"!

Over the years, I've stopped using even a crib for the little ones, but if you have a climber and a standard-sized crib, a crib tent is the way to go.

I used one for Paul.. He was in the girls' room (small house), and would climb out in the morning and get into their stuff. He was amused at first, but not happy...

OTOH, he now begs me for a tent every time he sees on in a catalogue. We condition young campers early .

Wow! A crib tent.....who knew? I'm just imagining how many times I could have used that if I'd ever heard of it. Oh well.....too late now

Hi,

We have used one also. One of our children would bounce and almost flip themselves over the side. They were actually caught in mid-air as they headed head first towards the floor, so we got the tent thingy after that.

We made one for our 2 1/2 year old. He has been getting out and destroying his brothers legos and finding and eating their Christmas candy.

Thanks for sharing...my dc love "tents" and "playhouses"
..so I feel better about containing him this way. I'll try to add something special inside. I hope to have a little more peace..taking a shower before he wakes and leaving him with older dc during naptimes.

My 13 month old just fell out of the crib last night! This crib tent sounds like what we need. Can anyone recomend a specific brand?
Thanks

Hi.

I can't remember the brand we used -- but it looked like this

We have a Babies R Us (which is now through Amazon online) by us, and that is probably where we got it. Or U.S.A. Baby.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,
