Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Who would have thought that my eighth child would be a Mama's Baby? She can't get enough of me and I can't get ANYTHING done! Even when I carry her around in the Baby Bjorn, I find it unwieldy. I am constantly bending, stretching, helping this one and that one with school, and basically drowning in my responsibilities.

Any suggestions?

Do you hav another carrier? Can older kids help younger ones? Can they bring their work to you while you sit some place comfy with your little girl?
God bless,

I got a Beco Butterfly (similar to an Ergo) for my 8th who wouldn't be put down. I could wear him on my back comfortably (which I had NEVER been able to do with any other carrier, even 17 years ago!) and get some stuff done.

good luck!

yep, different carrier for sure, something that will get her on your back will help. I have my two young ones not babies choose my back too.. the 2 yr old and 4 yr old will crawl up in my chair.. BEHIND me while I'm doing stuff.. on the computer (they can get in my lap then too) or while helping someone at the table.. they just sit behind me and snuggle up to my back.. I've even had them fall asleep there

Oh, me too, Jodie! Isn't that precious!

I'm often packing Katie on the front in the Ergo and JP on my back as a piggy-back ride.    It's our standard nature walk arrangement. I sure get a good hike out of the deal!

Sorry for the wistful sideways track...back to the originally scheduled program!

I'd vote for a comfortable back carry option as well, Tina. I often opt for the stroller pushed by an older child if I'm trying to get dinner done.

Lots of questions for you, Molly. I feel guilty about Mariana, like I'm not giving her enough attention due to having to give so many others so much of me. Is that why she might be so demanding of me? She allows only one of my friends (her godmother, no less) to hold her at church. The other person she allows to hold her is her 13 yo sister. But I don't want to rely on her when I'm busy ... which is just about always. And don't get me wrong, I love holding her and attachment parenting. I just find it difficult juggling so many others' needs.

Which sort of brings me to my next question: What made you choose the Beco as opposed to the Ergo?

Some babies will just normally want to be kept closer than others.. it's not a judgment against your parenting or having other kids that also need attention.

I would try and ditch the guilt and just work on ways to meet her extra need to be close. I would also try and think of it as saving the oldest for something that just HAS to be done right then.. I'm thinking meals, bathroom breaks things like that.
