While talking to an old friend on FB today about slips for young girls, she made mention of a "skirty" which I had never heard of before. I searched it out and found Amoretti Designs. These skirts are gorgeous and look plenty long enough for my tall 6 yo.
I thought I would pass it along since I had never heard of them before. They are really cute and check out the skirty. It would be great for little girls to wear under their dresses.

They are beautiful. It is so hard to find nice, decent skirts as our dds get older isn't it?
One solution I've found is to look in the ladies section at Good Will or thrift shops. Somtimes the skinny ladies skirts that would be too short for you or I fit her perfectly, or just take a small amount of altering.:)
And for under her skirts/dresses, I have always put long shorts or capris on her, all little girls have moments of showing what under their skirts, especially active ones like my dd. Even Mommy has her moments. I have an old pair of capris I wear under my skirt when I'm doing an activity that may show what's under my skirt. In fact I just used them yesterday, to do a lot of scooting around in a crawl space to help my husband.
Great idea Bethany, those are neat!

Hey Pilgrim,
What a great idea..to put long shorts or capris under a skirt on my dd's or myself, during an active activity! Never thought of it before! Thanks

I also save all the girls leggings, once they get holes in them, cut them off and hem them to use under dresses.

My teenagers wore short leggings under their prom dresses because they knew they were going to be doing some swing dancing at their recent prom. It gives the girls a sense of "security" that they don't need to worry about what might show.
