I was just wondering, what is your favorite baby stage? What is your most challenging?
For me, I love 5 months...Jillian is there now, and what a joy she is...smiling, "talking" discoving how to grab everything and put it in her mouth, looking me right in the eye, starting to control her upper body, but not yet mobile...its momentary utopia! She's like a little ray of sunshine.
Jonathan is 10 weeks now, and he's on his way to smiling and talking too....starting to make eye contact as well.
The newborn stage is my most challenging. Its such a sweet time, and baby is so "fresh", but I also long to discover their personality and have more 2 way interaction.
ALL the stages are great...and I think that as I experience each one, now with my 3rd & 4th babies, I am every bit as awed as I was with my 1st.

How funny........I see this topic.....and think....Oh, I know MY answer to that.......I just left an adorable 4 month just hours ago  (that would be Jillian!)
I just ADORE 4-5 months olds.........they are SOOOO sociable, and yet, non-mobile.......what a great combination!
I DO love a newborn.......not sure if I find any part of the under one year old as a challenge...........except maybe getting used to their mobility 
I love babies at all stages.......but I am VERY< VERY partial to the 4-5 mo old..........and very grateful to YOU, Shawna, for providing me not with TWO months of 4-5mo......but FOUR months! What a treat!
Now..........no matter what I DO or SAY........I cannot get Shawna's 5 yo, who is here visitng............and my 4ds and my 8ds......to stop fighting with their light sabers........it seems it is ALL they want to play! 
boys will be boys.........eh?
lol.........my 8 yo boy just came in here......exhausted from their "fighting"
well..........Shawna........maybe it will tire out your boy for bedtime!

Hi Shawna,
I always love the age that we're at...so make that 6 months! I love watching John Paul "give stuff the business." You know, the way they hold something in one hand, switch it to another, shake it, bring it to their mouth, think on it, pull it back out, shake it again, twist it, smack it a few times...

I like 6 months too - I feel "I've survived" and can relax with a little more assurance that the baby stage won't last forever  . I love how they can get around without being able to crawl or walk - my 6mo rolls everywhere. She recognizes us all very well now and can see the distance of the house so will light up when you come in the room.
I guess it's not a very babyish stage, but I *love* about the 14 month mark. They're still cute and little, but have such great personalities, are starting to communicate, and haven't reached the "wonderful twos"  . (Of course I think MY two year old is the greatest thing since sliced bread but she does have her moments  )

My vote is for 6 months too. They're so full of personality and they are laughing and they want to shake things and know who every one is and best of all they are usually content to do this all sitting in one place. Or just rolling around. They are also much more "talkative" when you change their diapers which makes for a more enjoyable time.

I weigh in at 6 months too! That's where I am at as well. Jack is such a blithe spirit.....he a-DORES all of his siblings. The smiles and giggles just slay me! I think back to how ill prepared (mentally...I was soooo selfish)I was with number one. I wished most of her first year away. Sigh. I can't get enough of the baby stage now. The only down side to the not mobile part for me is toting them around all day though. Jack isn't all that keen on being put down and he's 20 lbs. already. That's okay, though...toting them all day makes for lots of kiss-y opportunities.
