Discouraging news: The doctor says my c*%vix is shut tight as a drum. Still. He wanted to deliver early, considering my last baby was an emergency C-section and I tend to deliver sizable babies (not huge, just 8-9 lb range). I'm supposed to be 38.5 weeks now. He said that we'll wait three more weeks. If I don't go into labor or at least dilate a bit so he can strip my membranes within that time, I'll have to have another C-section.

Encouraging news: She's thriving. That's all that matters really, isn't it? The doctor estimated she's at about 7.5 pounds now.

Don't know whether I should've posted this here or in the Prayer Forum because now I'm going to ask for your prayers that I go into labor independently before the three weeks have passed. Please ... ?

Please don't be discouraged; this isn't the worst thing that could happen. (I personally feel it is safer for this Mom and her babies that it happen this way, as emergency c-sections are so much harder on everyone and seem to be inevitable.)
