Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am struggling with my Moby - I was wondering if there is a "cheaper" place to buy an Ergo - I have a local contact that Jenn has given me - but I just cannot stretch to the prices right now. I have tried the Ergo and it is so much easier and I like the weight on the hip - I am also able to do the back carry with no problem. I have been checking Craigslist - but nothing yet..

Marilyn - I finally splurged on one for Katie. I had planned on waiting, but then my dh wanted to go the airshow that was an all day event. It's 95+ degrees around here and I knew Katie and I would never make it all day at an outdoor event with my Moby. After hearing Jenn and Rebecca's (8smallones) recommendations and reading the reviews - I knew this would be the replacement for my Bjorn which was killing my back. So....I bought it. I would have preferred going through someone local, but there are no local dealers around here - I bought it from a site that offered free shipping. My Favorite Baby Carrier. The price was about the best I found - which was still a lot! There aren't any available used because they're such great carriers no one is getting rid of theirs! There are many sites that offer free shipping - I just google searched "free shipping Ergo".

I do MUCH prefer it to the Bjorn, and my back didn't hurt after carrying Katie all day at the airshow **AND** I packed JP on my back (while Ergo-ing Katie on the front) for the mile and a half hike in and out of the airshow because the stroller broke! So, I figure it earned its keep that day! Oh! a bonus that I wasn't expecting!! That little flap thingie that's meant to pull over the baby/toddlers head when they're on your back is really great!!! I've only carried Katie in the front, but when she falls asleep, I just pull that flap up and snap it in place. It supports her head and keeps people (and my own children) from putting fingers in her face and waking her up - and it's a great sunshield! It kept the sun off of her all day at the airshow! I just snapped it loose and puffed it up like a little tent so there was air movement for her! A lifesaver! Also, this is hands down the easiest carrier to remove a sleeping baby from and still have her remain sleeping! All right...you weren't looking for my lengthy review of this carrier. Sorry for the gush!

As an aside, when you do get it, if your budget allows, I really like the backpack that clips to the carrier. I hope you can find room in your budget to squeeze the Ergo in - you will love it!

I've been wanting one for a long time. Just cannot seem to find the $! They are so expensive. I've never heard anything bad about them.

I love my Maya Wraps but my little guy is getting pretty wiggly in them and I think the Ergo would be a nice change to have him snuggly on my back.

Here's to both of us finding a cheaper source, Marilyn!

You may want to check out the FSOT board on Thebabywearer.com   I've seen a lot of Ergos on there at reasonable (comparatively!) prices

I just happened upon an Ergo on Craig's List in Northern Colorado. If anyone can secure it, I'll pick it up for you and send it. :-)
